Good guys finish first (sometimes)
My heart went soft twice this week. First, when I heard about U.S. Open winner Rory McIlroy's recent trip to Haiti with UNICEF and again when I saw Walter, the new Muppet starring with Jason Segal in the upcoming Muppet movie.

Ryan Reynolds on EW
He seems like the perfect guy. It'd be interesting to hear from Scarlett Johansson why she dumped him. Until then you can hear about Ryan Reynolds from Ryan Reynolds in this week's Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Tacky much?
If the architect of this building could come back to life and blow up the headquarters of Samsung, I'm fairly certain he would do so. Photo posted by AbadH on Reddit Los Angeles

Twin Peaks fashion
Guess who is on a Twin Peaks bender? I'm forever intrigued by the 1950's meets 80's, collides with woodsy 90's fashion on the series. How about this sassy twist on Audrey Horne's saddle shoes?
Actor Chris Pine channels both of Laura Palmer's boyfriends, biker James Hurley and bad boy quarterback, Bobby Briggs, wearing plaid.
What would Twin Peaks be without 1950s cardigans?
Liz Taylor would have felt at home in Twin Peaks with her dark waves. Those women without lovely 1950's dos suffered from big 1980's hair.
Hello Maddie and top of the morning to you, Log Lady!
Ever notice how Laura's best friend Donna always wore oversized sweaters?
Pencil skirts and
...red lipstick were must-haves in Twin Peaks!

¿Que hora es, Nathan?
Nathan Fletcher has joined Nixon's surf team. Expect to see a gigante watch on his gun starting this fall.
New nose for Jamie Chung
Jamie Chung may not currently reside on Hollywood's A-List, but she's at the top of the Hardest Working Actresses list. Girlfriend's everywhere; Hangover 2, Sucker Punch, Sorority Row. She doesn't seem to be picky in her roles, which to me translates as not taking herself too seriously. Aja! I've noticed Jamie now appears slightly different than during her MTV Real World San Diego days. It turns out she's had plastic surgery on her nose. The bridge has been raised and her tip narrowed. That's impressive work by her surgeon. Jamie still looks Asian, though less Korean. That part makes me a little sad. Anyway, go on Jamie with your new nose! Give those blonde actresses a run for their money.
NOW that's what you call music?
What's My Name? by Rihanna & Drake
For the longest time I thought rapper Drake was the kid from the Nickelodeon TV show.
Waiting for the End by Linkin Park
This song is tight.
Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars
Rocketeer by Far East Movement
Great tune. Solid video. Explained to a coworker, who thinks all current music is about drug use, that this is a love song.
Only Girl In the World by Rihanna
I chuckle when she sings "hold me like a pillow."
Down by Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne
It's obnoxious but catchy.
You and Your Heart by Jack Johnson
Ten Storey Love Song by The Stone Roses
Sunset by Marques Houston
I'm not usually into sexy music, but DAMN this song is sexy.
Just Breathe by Pearl Jam
Helena Beat by Foster the People
Maybe by Ingrid Michaelson
Apparently I only like songs about people who have crushed hearts.
Price Tag by Jessie J feat. BoB
If there was one guilty pleasure in this hot mess of a mix, it'd be this song.
Written in the Stars by Tinie Tempah feat. Eric Turner
"Song by singer who sounds like Enrique Iglesias" is how I Googled the name of this song. But seriously, I like Tinie's accent and his interesting British-Nigerian background.
Cameras by Matt & Kim
Better Together by Jack Johnson
Dedicated to my dog, Ginger
DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love by Usher
Just a Dream by Nelly
The Great Big No by The Lemonheads
I was having a shitty day last spring and then The Great Big No came on the radio. Suddenly my mood lightened and I felt lucky to be alive.
The Only Living Boy in New York by Simon and Garfunkel
Lost Cause by Beck
This is becoming my mid-life crisis theme music.
Wave of Mutilation by The Pixies

Hey Jennifer Aniston, grow a pair
Above is Jennifer Aniston's new campaign for Smart Water. I am sick of seeing this woman without a shirt. I am also tired of her lame "covering the nipples" pose. If she's not going to wear a shirt then let it all hang out or put a damn shirt on already. She's not in her twenties anymore so I wish she'd stop with the coy, girly image.

Ceramic artist, Jan Bilek
If you are anywhere near Northeast Minneapolis, visit studio 337 in the Northrup King Building to see Jan Bilek's sensuous and beautiful ceramics. My sisters in law surprised me with a green porcelain gourd years ago, and I love it to this day. See more of Jan's work at her website.
Spirit, the little rover who could
Maybe I've seen too many Pixar films, but I felt downright emotional reading Project Manager John Callas' letter to his Mars Exploration Rover team. This week he sent a final command to Spirit, NASA's rover, who is sitting dormant on our neighboring Red Plant.
