Is the movie trailer for Insidious too long and does it give away most of the movie's good parts? That is what I thought a month ago, but then I caught the trailer again while laying in bed and it gave me the chills. Insidious, starring Patrick Wilson, opens in theaters on April 1.

Just call me Boss Hogg
In 1976, I came off the plane from Korea armed with some adoption papers, a silk purse, and a can of powdered milk. I rediscovered the can while rifling through boxes in my basement. I'm glad my parents didn't throw it away. I should note that my mom put me on solid foods right away (I was six months old and still on a liquid diet) when I arrived and my weight exploded to the point where I dwarfed the baby on the milk can.
Mad love
Ajumma recently walked out of Target with this Blue and White Dot Floral melamine plate and bedsheets in the same pattern. If there's one thing I've learned from Target and Ikea it's if I see something I like to grab it before it's gone forever. This pattern reminds me of a Japanese yukata. Target calls it Blue and White Dot Floral, but I'd call it Kyoto.

Mama said knock you out (and to buy a steam table)
Ben Ryder Howe, author of My Korean Deli, ought to join my new support group. Read an excerpt from his funny, new book at NPR. (Pic by Christopher Lane)

I'm not only the president, I'm a client, too
I'm thinking of forming a support group for people who marry into Asian families. I envision it as a forum for venting frustrations, among other things. Our first topic would be, Mother-in-laws: WTF?!
