Details on Jet Li's new Film, "Warlords"

According to Jet Li, 2004's "Hero" was to be his final epic martial arts film. Perhaps the script for "Warlords" was just too much to pass up, because next month Li will star as a Qing-era (1644-1911) warlord trying to save his own neck against local rebels and his own two "blood" brothers, played by Takeshi Kaneshiro and Andy Lau. This movie appears to be a sweeping drama, rather than regular martial arts schtick. But with Jet Li on board you can rest assured that there will be some good action sequences. I do have concerns about horses being injured on set, though. Foreign countries often do not have laws to protect animals during the filming of movies. Animals are known to be intentionally injured for scenes, and there are several battle scenes involving the downing of horses in "Warlords."
